W2 - Social Innovation

The Social Innovation week evolves on skill building workshops facilitated by global practitioners around the topics of Leadership, Management, Creativity and Problem-solving, and Communication. Participants are to benefit from relevant expertise of change-making and leadership insights to take you to the next level.

Technology thinking applied to social innovation

Future Kit is a workshop methodology with creative tools for envisioning the future. It helps teams address future challenges by leveraging creativity in emerging technology. In the course of an afternoon, your team will develop creative solutions by simulating use of future technologies. The workshop helps you generate innovative scenarios in a fast-paced, high-energy setting. Participants are guided through a series of game-like exercises, called canvases. Each canvas presents a distinct perspective on technology. Canvases are self-guided and executed in groups of three people. In the final canvas, participants assemble a trio of cards to build a viable sci-fi prototype. The exercise is designed to help develop exponential, long-term thinking. To conclude the workshop, all groups showcase their prototypes by describing their concepts and how future technologies are to be used.

Storytelling for change: what is your why?

The objective of this workshop is to simulate the process of a TEDx talk preparation. We will work together along the different phases of the process with each participant on:

  • Identifying the unique message they want to convey

  • Detecting the stories that can better illustrate this message

  • Collecting key data to support it

  • Defining the call to action for the audience

  • Putting together the pieces of the puzzle in a powerful story

  • Acting on stage with confidence

At the end of the workshop, the participants will have identified their values and what motivates them in pursuing their studies. They will know how to communicate and deliver effective talks on what they are doing, and why they are doing it. And more importantly, they will get to know each other better and will have had fun!

Using Business as a Force For Good

The workshop will begin with an open circle where the participants will present themselves and share the reasons why they are seeking to learn about social innovation and entrepreneurship. The content will be brought from exposition of concepts and cases, with slides and videos that will be merged with open conversation from the beginning to the end contextualizing new disruptive economic paradigms such as collaborative and circular economy, social entrepreneurship, business as a positive change tool and cases of B Corps that are changing the definition of success in business. The last part of the workshop will be a group exercise ( a group of 4 people max) where they will co-create a new socially and environmentally responsible business model following the framework of the “B Business Model Canvas”.
