The Creative Initiatives week aims to provide an understanding of Creative Initiatives and Social Entrepreneurship to address and solve significant social problems and improve the quality of life in their communities by introducing information about creative problem-solving techniques, and socially responsible innovative business practices available to the widest possible participants.
The workshop aims to provide the attendees with the skills and tools to:
Identify impact areas that address the economic and social shared interests of all stakeholders.
Articulate the values and organizational culture to reflect common shared interests.
identify the strategic activities needed to achieve the shared interests.
Derive a model with clear indicators to continuously assess the performance of the organization.
Some of the tools used will include: Profile Building, User Journeys, Shared interests Matrix, Impact Model, Impact Map.
The advancement of technology at an exponential rate is enabling small teams to do what was once only possible for governments and large corporations While there has been great progress in living standards last century, this century has the potential to be a century of abundance if creative people take the initiative to work on the right challenges facing humanity. Humanity’s grand challenges lie in areas including energy, education, water, food and health. And the most exciting exponential technologies emerging include Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, 3D Printing and Synthetic Biology. The objective of the workshop is stimulate the Kingdom’s innovation environment for business success in the disruptive economy. Matching an exponential technology with one of Humanity’s Grand Challenges is key first step in the road so that by 2030 the Kingdom can become a knowledge society with a prosperous, diversified, private sector & human capacity driven knowledge-based economy. No technical knowledge is required to participate in this workshop instead the emphasis will be on unleashing the participants’ creativity and inspiring them take the first step to solve one of Humanity’s Grand Challenges.
The workshop will showcase some case studies of Wajha’s projects, which will demonstrate the complete process in detail, the thinking behind each concept , the challenges, and behind-the-scenes stories. Each participant will be asked to renovate a certain local shop in their respective city, and present a certain methodology to change the current experience of the shop through design thinking. The workshop will also focus on maintaining the visual identity of old shops in the Arab region that still hold the authentic spirit of the Arab visual identity, and how to redesign these shops while maintaining their original identity.
This workshop aims at taking the participants on a journey that helps them identify the negative aspects in their community and then guides them to find opportunities of change within those negativities and to transform themthrough positive action steps that create a business. The workshop is an intensive, interactive brainstorming session that will lead the participants to an individual or a group idea that has the potential to become a creative business within the realm of social entrepreneurship. This will be an introduction to realizing the potential of endless opportunities, whether for business or social movements, once you are aware of how frustration can be channeled into positive actionable mediums.
